GSPH is committed to providing a safe working environment for all employees; this is reflected in its enviable safety record. Through February of 2009, GSPH has accumulated over 788,000 man hours of work without a loss-time injury. In 2008 GSPH earned a 3.32 OSHA Incident Rate (OIR) and Experience Modification Rate (MOD Rate) of .55, both indices well below the national average for the industry. The full time safety officer provides OSHA 10-hour and OSHA 30-hour training classes in addition to confined space entry requirements, lock out tag out procedures and other safe work practices. Through a team approach GSPH has developed a positive “safety culture” which reinforces the commitment toward improving safety throughout the company.
